These are such a wonderful gift to give to any knitter you know! And they are a great beginner beading project- your loops don't have to be perfect since certain beads will cover them mostly.
What you will need:
-Silver-plated Memory Wire
-Ring large enough to go on knitting needle- I used Metals Clasps, they came 3 rings joined together with the stick parts separate.
-Round Tip Pliers
-Needle Nose Pliers
- Beads of your choice- I like about 3 per Marker
First, take apart the rings of the Metal Clasps by opening the jump rings holding the larger rings together, set aside jump rings and stick parts of clasp- they will not be needed. Also, cut a piece of wire about 2 1/2 inches long.Next, take the round-nose pliers and make a small loop in one end of the wire, and thread your beads on. I find that holding the wire about 1 inch from the end with the needle nose pliers give you a better grip and makes the loop easier to make. Whatever method works for you. Then, trim the wire leaving about 1/2 inch on the end for making a loop to put the ring on. (This is where the needle-nose pliers REALLY help with grip.) Use the needle-nose pliers to hold onto the intial loop you made first. Make a loop on the end a little larger than the other. Now use the needle-nose pliers to twist the loop you just made open just enough to put the ring on.
(Please excuse the dry hands- they're really bad when I'm preggo)
Finally, use the needle-nose pliers again to twist the loop back closed, and Ta-Da your done!
